Job description

  • Coordinate and oversee all welding activities, ensuring compliance with welding standards and quality requirements.

  • Develop and implement welding procedures, specifications, and standards in line with regulatory and client requirements.

  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and tests on welding processes and finished products to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

  • Manage the training and certification of welders, ensuring they adhere to the required welding techniques and safety protocols.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure efficient and compliant operations.

  • Maintain thorough documentation of welding activities, inspection records, and compliance reports.

  • Stay updated on industry regulations and technological advancements to enhance welding quality and efficiency.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in welding coordination, quality control, or a similar role within an industrial setting.

  • Relevant qualifications in welding engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.

  • Certification in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, PCN, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ISO 3834, EN 1090) and regulatory requirements for welding operations.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage welding teams and maintain quality control.

  • Familiarity with welding techniques, materials, and equipment, and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
