Job description
As an Agency Nurse in our nursing home, your responsibilities will include:
Nursing Care: Administering medication, treatments, and injections as prescribed, ensuring correct documentation and compliance with NMC guidelines.
Health Monitoring: Conducting regular observations (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and reporting any changes in residents' conditions to the multidisciplinary team.
Care Planning: Developing, reviewing, and updating care plans to meet the individual needs of residents, involving them and their families in decisions where appropriate.
Wound Care: Providing wound management and care, including the application of dressings, pressure ulcer prevention, and post-operative care.
Clinical Supervision: Leading and supervising healthcare assistants to ensure the delivery of quality care, providing guidance, and addressing any issues.
Safeguarding: Ensuring residents are protected and safe from harm by following the appropriate safeguarding policies and protocols.
Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of care, assessments, and interventions in compliance with regulatory requirements and nursing home policies.
Palliative Care: Providing end-of-life care that respects the dignity and wishes of residents and their families.
Health & Safety: Ensuring adherence to infection control protocols, health and safety policies, and hygiene standards to provide a safe environment for residents and staff.
Communication: Liaising effectively with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic approach to care.
Essential requirements
Right to Work in the UK: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
Active NMC PIN: Registered Nurse (RGN) with a valid and active NMC PIN.
Enhanced DBS: Must have Updated Enhanced DBS
Experience: Previous experience working in a nursing home or similar care setting.
Clinical Skills: Strong clinical skills, including medication administration, wound care, and health monitoring.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact compassionately with residents, families, and colleagues.
Organisation: Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Teamwork: A team player with the ability to lead and support healthcare assistants in delivering high-quality care.
