Job description
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of paediatric patients, including physical examinations, health histories, and developmental evaluations to determine health status and care needs.
Clinical Care: Administer medications, treatments, and vaccinations as prescribed by physicians. Monitor patients for responses to treatments and report any changes in condition.
Family Education and Support: Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and home care instructions, ensuring they understand how to manage their child's health.
Emergency Response: Provide immediate nursing care in emergency situations, including first aid, resuscitation, and stabilization of critically ill children.
Developmental Support: Recognize and address the developmental and psychological needs of children and adolescents, providing support and guidance to both patients and their families.
Collaboration with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with pediatricians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient's needs.
Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including progress notes, care plans, and medication administration logs, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Infection Control: Implement infection prevention protocols to minimize the risk of infection in paediatric patients, especially in vulnerable populations.
Advocacy: Act as an advocate for children’s health and well-being, ensuring their rights are respected and that their needs are met within the healthcare system.
Essential requirements
UAE Nursing Registration or License: Applicants must hold or be eligible for a UAE nursing license (DHA, HAAD, or MOH).
Candidates without a license must be willing to undergo the registration process.
Nursing Qualifications: A recognised nursing degree or diploma in general nursing or paediatrics is required. Specialization in paediatric nursing is preferred.
Minimum Experience: At least 2 years of experience working as a paediatric nurse in a clinical setting is required, with experience in acute care or critical care being an advantage.
Excellent English Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written English proficiency is essential for effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
First Aid & CPR Certification: Up-to-date First Aid and CPR certifications are mandatory, ensuring readiness for emergency situations.
Compassionate and Caring Attitude: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children and families, providing compassionate care and emotional support.
Knowledge of Pediatric Conditions: Familiarity with common paediatric medical conditions, treatments, and developmental milestones is essential.
